Steve Criser

Senior Partner

Steve has held accounting positions with some of the most prestigious accounting firms in the State of Kansas for over 40 years. Steve is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant with the Kansas Board of Accountancy. A member of professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kansas Society of CPA's, and the Estate Planning Council of Wichita. Serves on numerous boards of charitable organizations.

Laura Parrish-Coan

Laura Parrish-Coan, EA, ATA, ABA

Managing Partner

Laura has over 25 years of experience as a tax and accounting consultant. Laura is licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and is a member of the Kansas Public Accountants Association, National Society of Accountants, and the Estate Planning Council of Wichita.

Elizabeth Barnett

Partner/West Location

Liz has been with our firm since 2000 and a Partner since 2013. She manages our west office. Liz graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Liz is a member of the Kansas Public Accountants Association and a Certified QuickBooks Advisor. She is an expert in business and individual taxes. With a natural talent in small business accounting and compliance, Liz is a valuable member of our team. She is currently sitting for her Enrolled Agency certification, hope to have it completely by the end of 2018. When Liz isn’t working she enjoys time with her family and 8 grandchildren.

Katherine Sparks, CPA

CPA/Manager

Kathy has been with our firm since 2007 and supervises our bookkeeping department. She manages payroll, sales tax, and bookkeeping for clients, and is a certified QuickBooks Advisor. Kathy has her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting, and in the spring of 2013, received her Master’s Degree in Accounting from Friends University. She went on to pass the CPA exam in January of 2014, receiving her license in April of that year. Additionally, Kathy founded and directs Lexi’s LAMB Foundation, a local nonprofit which helps children in local hospitals.

Stephen Mardis, JD, CPA

Associate

Steve has over 35 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant, as well as being an attorney-at-law. He practices in the corporate and individual income tax area and specializes in automobile dealerships and estates and trusts. A member of professional organizations including the Kansas Society of CPA’s, the Estate Planning Council of Wichita and Kansas Bar Association.

Moonmoon Chakravarthy, CPA

CPA

Moonmoon is on leave of absence until November or December. She joined our firm in August of 2015. Moonmoon holds a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of West Florida and coursework in accounting and finance from Harvard Extension School. Her prior professional experience includes five years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in finance and business account administration, where she worked very closely with faculty and research scientists in managing multiple grants of over $7 million. She is also a holder of a CPA license from the state of Massachusetts and maintains a CPA license from the state of Kansas.

Matt Moore

Matthew Moore, CPA

CPA

Matthew Moore began his employment with our firm as a part-time intern during the 2013 tax season. He was hired as a full-time employee in September of 2015 and works as a bookkeeper as well as assisting in tax preparation. Matt brings with him over 4 years of IT administration knowledge and enjoys working through processes looking for any improvements. He enjoys the challenge of creating useful information from varied datasets as well. Matt is currently attending Wichita State University to complete his Accounting degree and became a CPA in 2018.

Ellen Hittle, EA

EA, Accountant

Ellen joined our firm the summer of 2015, bringing with her over 30 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation. She has worked primarily in public accounting, focusing on business and individual tax preparation. Ellen has been an Enrolled Agent with the IRS since 1992 and is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor as well as a Notary Public. She spends her leisure time as an active member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, and enjoys cross stitch and quilting.

Shayna Lane

Manager

Shayna joined our firm in July 2018. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance with concentrations in accounting, finance, and management from Bethany College in 1999 and has worked in public accounting as a tax and accounting specialist ever since. Shayna is a QuickBooks Proadvisor. She serves on the Board of Directors, Kansas Loan Committee and the Finance and Investment Committee for RMI Inc. She is also the Finance Director for the Wichita 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb as well as a member of GORUCK (google it) and Team RWB.

Dee Ann has assisted the firm during tax season since 2006. In 2011 she joined the firm as a part-time employee working in bookkeeping and individual tax preparation. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Wichita State University.

Aimee Basham

Aimee Basham

Accountant

Aimee joined our firm in 2008. She prepares payrolls and tax returns for individuals and small businesses, as well as supporting special research projects. Aimee graduated in 1999 from Sterling College with a degree in Behavioral Science. She volunteers with Bike Walk Wichita and the North Riverside Neighborhood Association. The Tour de Cure bike ride for the American Diabetes Association is particularly close to her heart.

Ruth Clark

Ruth Clark

Accountant

Ruth has been with our firm since 2008. She specializes in multi-state payrolls, payroll reports and multi-state sales tax reports. She also does bookkeeping and tax preparation for clients. Ruth received her Bachelor in accounting from Wichita State University in 2013. Ruth plans to study and sit for the EA exam in the near future. In her time away from work she loves spending time with her daughters and husband.

Carrie joined our firm in 2013. She works on payroll, sales tax, tax preparation and bookkeeping for clients. Carrie earned her Master’s Degree in Accounting through Friends University in May of 2017. Carrie enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son.

Jacy Zimmerman

Jacy began as an intern during the 2014 tax season. She prepares individual and business tax returns, as well as, performs bookkeeping services. Jacy graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from Wichita State University in the fall of 2014, and passed the Enrolled Agent exam in May of 2018.

Dawn Andrews

Dawn Andrews

Accountant

Dawn joined the firm in the fall of 2014 as a bookkeeper, bringing with her 14 years of customer service, bookkeeping and client relations experience in the commercial property management industry. She currently prepares payroll and sales tax returns and performs monthly bookkeeping functions for our clients. In a personal capacity, Dawn donates her time to various projects and committees at her church and in the local community as a volunteer with Union Rescue Mission.

Meghan Forgey

Meghan joined our firm during the summer of 2017. She spent the last 5 years working in Oil and Gas industries in Texas and Colorado and has experience with full ledger bookkeeping, payroll, commercial real estate and non-profit organizations. Meghan is currently earning her Bachelors’ degree through CCU’s distance learning program. When not working, she enjoys working in her church’s children’s ministry.

Jessica Martin

Jessica Martin joined Criser, Gough and Parrish to assist in payroll processing, accounts payable processing and other bookkeeping functions in August 2018. Jessica will strive to make a positive impact by implementing company initiative while ensuring maximum productivity, profitability and compliance for our clients. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management from Wichita State University; she completed her coursework Cum Laude. Jessica has seven years of prior accounting experience.

Diana began as an intern during the 2016 tax season. She now works as a bookkeeper, preparing payroll and tax returns for clients. She holds an Associate’s degree in accounting from Seward County Community College and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in accounting through Wichita State University.

Penny joined our firm in 2006. She has more than 30 years of customer service experience and more than 20 years experience editing newsletters. Penny provides all types of office assistance, edits the Criser + Gough + Parrish newsletter, and manages the firm’s social media. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, crocheting hats & scarves for charity, and volunteering for Lexi's LAMB Foundation, a local organization founded in memory of her granddaughter, Lexi, which helps children in local hospitals.

After graduating with her Bachelor’s in Family Studies and Human Services from Kansas State University, Jenna spent 7 years working in various client/customer relations positions, most recently as an executive assistant of a Manhattan, KS accounting firm.

Mary joined our firm in the spring of 2017. She has over 35 years of experience as a receptionist/records clerk/administrative assistant. Mary completed her degree as a medical secretary at Wichita Area Technical College, and enjoys being a grandma and spending time at Table Rock Lake.

Community Relations

Starla represents Criser, Gough & Parrish as they support Wichita’s community. She serves on the Linwood Senior Center Advisory Council, teaches and mentors senior adults interested in writing at both the Linwood Senior Center and the Downtown Senior Center, and coordinates the SECA (Seniors Exploring Cultural Arts) group at the Downtown Senior Center. She is also a member of Botanica the Wichita Gardens, the Sedgwick County Zoo, and the Adventurous Babes Society in Wichita.

Music Theatre of Wichita: Produces the finest musical theatre in the community and region and has a longstanding commitment to local teens.
